With so many changes and updates amid the COVID-19 Pandemic there has been a lot of confusion. This is especially true with what is considered essential versus nonessential closures.
According to Governor Brown’s Executive Order 20-12, Stay Home, Stay Safe mandated orders “Chiropractic clinics/practices/offices are not listed among the businesses ordered closed and would be considered within the health care and medical exemption of businesses allowed to operate within closed indoor and outdoor malls.” source - Oregon Board Of Chiropractics
The Executive Order 20-12 link can be found here: https://govsite-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/jkAULYKcSh6DoDF8wBM0_EO%2020-12.pdf
This was different from Governor Brown’s Executive Order 20-10 which initially had us closing our offices until June 15th.
We are closely following multiple websites which include The World Health Organization, The CDC, Oregon Health Authority, Lane County Health as well as any local authorities. We are also watching the Oregon Board of Chiropractic (site: https://www.oregon.gov/obce/Pages/COVID-19_Announcements.aspx ) which is specific to us as a health clinic.
It is from these sites that we can make prudent decisions as to when we are open and when will we be closed as well as using their resources for best practices in staying healthy, safe and to do our part in slowing the spread of the virus.
With this in mind we need to balance both the health of our patients and staff while maintaining our part in minimizing the spread of the COVID-19. We have elected to reopen clinic hours starting April 1st 2020. Now we still have to follow very strict protocols to maintain our policy of best practices in staying healthy, safe and to do our part in slowing the spread of the virus.
